A place where nature, sport and comfort write the story of your mountain life.
The project offers responses to the local context of the site. The materials, size and layout are inspired by archetypal mountain architecture. The modern and clean interiors are in harmonious dialogue with the constantly changing landscape of the highest Czech mountains. As always, we emphasise natural light and the ways in which it permeates the indoor spaces. Contact with the surroundings is enhanced by spacious balconies, leisure time gardens and relaxation facilities overlooking a picturesque mountain stream.
Three apartment buildings located in the quiet surroundings of the Huťský Stream in the heart of the Krkonoše Mountains form community living in an enclosed residential building and have rich communal facilities, wellness and a garden.
Very popular spa with Finnish sauna and relaxation area, ski and bike storage with unique access system of each apartment unit, shoe dryer and service desk. For the maximum convenience of all sports enthusiasts, a "Ski Box" will be installed in the complex for easy access to rent skis, cross-country skis, or bikes and scooters depending on the season and the wishes of the residents. Of course, there is a private storage area behind the entrance, as well as a storage room, or quality wi-fi connection throughout the complex. The outdoor spaces offer seating and a fire pit. With selected local shops and restaurants, we are also preparing the possibility to deliver food and ready-made dishes directly to the resort.
Rokytnice nad Jizerou is a thriving mountain town with complete facilities and excellent transport accessibility. The dominant feature of the site is undoubtedly the location itself in the centre of the enchanting natural surroundings of the Krkonoše Mountains National Park.
Rokytnice is one of the best ski resorts in the Czech Republic and is the uncrowned king of Czech ski mountaineering as well as being an excellent place for cross-country skiing. In the town there are several grocery and sporting goods shops, rental shops, ski schools, many restaurants and a rich nightlife, as well as a pharmacy and medical services.
Perhaps the most famous local restaurant, with excellent access to the ski centre. The restaurant offers a lunch menu every day as well as regular dishes from the menu. They pride themselves on excellent service. Expect a full house at lunchtime.
Regulars can get a lunch reservation even despite the crowds.
Don't know what to do with the kids in the afternoon or in the evening? Give snow tubing a try. The kids will surely be thrilled, and so will you. The attraction is also suitable for small children, who can ride in pairs. And it works even in summer.
Refreshments by the snow tubing can cut down on time while waiting for kids who want one last ride. In a larger group, we can agree on discounts from the price list.
A smaller area especially for children and beginners with two surface platter lifts and a magic carpet. The location is ideal for practising ski lift rides and the first rides on skis. There is a basic equipment rental shop right next to the lift. Free parking is available right at the lift.
You can watch your kids from the refreshment area right next to the lift station. The hill is very clear, so you have them under surveillance at all times.
Located right on the Lower Square , this pleasant restaurant offers very good food – both Czech and international cuisine. Daily lunch menu. And excellent Pilsner beer. The menu might be a tad long. Of course there is Wi-Fi. We definitely recommend a visit to the restaurant.
Children's portions or menus for children are no problem. And there is also a fun corner for the little ones. Czech pub classics such as ribs, duck, pork knuckle and others will certainly not disappoint.
A somewhat hidden but genuine mountain pub that you can easily reach on skis or on foot. The locals just call it "the Garage". It has a very stylish ambience and serves quality Pilsner beer, and guests can choose from the simple menu. The dishes will surely not disappoint you! An interesting place for an evening get-together or for renting out the whole space for a party. You just need to get here and, after eating, head back down into the valley.
Don't miss the local burgers and grilled specialities. The local broth will warm you up, but don't be afraid to try the fine spirits or carefully selected wines.
Dovračky or Štumpovka is an ideal place for a lunch break while skiing or a destination for a summer hike. The service is very fast and accustomed to a really big rush. Here you will experience the true mountain atmosphere and service you know from lodges in the Alps. All this and, of course, great food. You can sit in the restaurant or outside on the terrace. Perhaps the only drawback is the Budvar on tap, but that's just a matter of taste and opinion!
It would certainly be a shame not to try the local buns, which they bake themselves at Dvoračky.
A nice cosy restaurant with seating inside and outside. The food is excellent by local standards and you can choose from a varied menu ranging from pizza to pasta and Czech classics. The restaurant is also popular among locals, so it's not a problem to get acquainted and learn interesting bits from life in the mountains. You will be pleased with the Svijany and Pilsner beer.
The local speciality is fresh trout prepared in many ways.
An interesting mountain café and pastry shop where they choose the ingredients carefully and do homemade desserts, including delicious ice cream. Try the excellent coffee – Sicilian and others.
It's worth following Facebook to keep up with the latest exciting offers.
Classic food with convenient opening hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is a fairly well-stocked minimarket. On Wednesdays, mobile butchers’ shops come here with lots of interesting and honestly-made meat delicacies from the Krkonoše Mountains. In February, at the peak of the season, vegetables can be sold out very early; the fruit and vegetable shop is just off the square, about 100 metres away.
If you are planning a larger purchase, we recommend shopping on the way to Rokytnice.
The local information centre is in the town hall. It is small but cosy with very nice service. If you're looking for tips for other trips, leaflets, maps or tourist stamps, you've come to the right place. A lot of information can be downloaded directly from the Information Centre's website.
Don't be afraid to call. Lucie and Jitka, who work here, are very helpful and will certainly advise you.
A smaller centre with two surface platter lifts next to Modrá Hvězda, where there is a slightly steeper and longer slope. There is also night skiing, which is especially good for less demanding skiers and children. There is free parking a few dozen metres from the lift.
Night skiing is also great for snowboard lessons, as there are usually few people on the slope, which means less pressure when learning to navigate the lift. There is a cosy ski bar at the base of the ski slope.
The same slope as Modrá Hvězda and Bahýnka is ideal for beginners or children. There is a 700-metre-long platter lift and a shorter children's rope tow. Free parking is also available here.
The resort offers a beautiful view of the dominant feature – Lysá hora, its slopes and the Kotel peak.
Skiing in Rokytnice, that’s the Horní Domky area with the dominant feature of Lysá hora, where you can use two chairlifts and four platter lifters. Don’t miss the longest ski slope in the Czech Republic from the top of Lysá hora. From here you can also enjoy unforgettable views, or feel as if you're in heaven if you're above the clouds. You can park directly at the slopes in the paid car park or in other car parks from which you have to walk or take the free ski bus. Please note: In February and at weekends when the weather is nice, the car park can fill up. It pays to get up a little early. There is a bike park in summer.
The obvious pick here is Slalomák. This hill, which has a fast platter lift named Zalomený, is a beautifully wide red slope. It is one of the few that can bear comparison with the wide slopes in the Alps. And most importantly, everyone usually heads to the cable car, meaning that it is usually left free here. For connoisseurs, it is mandatory to arrive at 8 o'clock, catch a few rides on Lysá, then a few at Zalomené, and you are done.
A small post office with two counters where the staff usually solve everything quickly without a wait.
The best-equipped local sports shop, where you're sure to find what you're looking for. The main branch is on the Lower Square (Dolní Náměstí). There is also a ski equipment rental service, ski service and the possibility of buying from the eshop.
They understand sports here and the selection is really interesting.
This is a school where you can learn to ski, snowboard or telemark. The owner, Hynek Major, is not only an excellent teacher, but also a great promoter of telemark. If you meet any ski instructors on a weekday, as they're getting up to speed, they're sure to be wearing green Major ski jackets. He teaches both at Horní Domky and at Modrá Hvězda.
Even Jakub Kohák learned to telemark here. Satisfaction always depends on the instructor, so don't be afraid to ask about their experience with teaching children, level of education, etc.
A go-kart track in a quiet environment with a length of 200 metres and an area of 1500 m2. The Honda go-karts can go up to 60 km/h, but the track is safe and suitable for children too.
It is no problem to reserve the whole track for yourself and organise your own races.
The simpler rope centre has two circuits in the treetops at a height of 4–12 metres. Children over 130 cm tall are granted unaccompanied access, smaller ones with an instructor. There is also a separate zip line.
It is ideal to combine this with a visit to the Kamínek restaurant.
A sports hall with a large 18 x 36-metre gym, which also has floorball nets. It also includes a smaller gymnasium with an area of 12 x 18 metres. The hall also has a gym, sauna and three adjacent outdoor clay tennis courts.
Everything can be rented. A small gym can be an interesting alternative to a jungle gym. There is also a large trampoline.
Legendary music bar. The word legendary is appropriate, because anyone who has been to Rokytnice and has not visited this place was never really in the town. If you want to go out and have fun on a Friday or Saturday night, this is your number one destination. They have very good drinks, two bars, a dance floor and recorded music or a DJ. It is also possible to order pizza.
The owner, Milena, also makes complicated and experimental cocktails. It's better to arrive later; around 8 p.m. you’ll have the place pretty much to yourself. But as time goes on, that will change very quickly. Most of the locals arrive here already fortified from other places.
A very well-equipped ski rental shop, mainly focused on ski mountaineering, but you can also find skis and bicycles in summer.
The owner will be happy to advise you where to go for sport and exploration. Rokytnice is the perfect place to try ski mountaineering, and perhaps it will become the love of your life.
Rental in the main lift building, run by the Major Ski School. They have quality equipment from Rossignol, Dynastar and LANGE. Ski service is also included.
Quality equipment for the slopes, while for ski mountaineering it is better to choose Mountain Base just a few steps away. You can store your own skis and other belongings.
Starting in the 2021 season, the Udatný, Pařez and Studenov ski centres will be connected. So now there are eight lifts, including one shorter chairlift. The lifts at Studenov are already almost 1300 metres long, which in itself promises interesting skiing. Paid parking is usually available directly on the premises.
There is also a track for ski cross or snowboard cross. The platter lift that runs to Studenov may be old, but is much faster than the neighbouring bar lift. Studenov is definitely worth a visit. It's not Lysá hora, but it's a nice slope, only sometimes there is a problem with snow. The lifts can also be used as approach transport for a cross-country skiing trip to the ridge or to Harrachov.
